The first half of September is a good time to climb Grossglockner. The conditions are still summer-like, but there are no such crowds as in the peak of the summer season. September expeditions to the highest peak of Austria are a fixed point in the schedules of BluEmu expeditions. Also this year, two teams went to the Grossglockner. The weather this time was not as sunny as in previous years, but it was not so bad that it would not give a chance to reach the summit. On September 8, the entire expedition reached the Erzherzog Johann shelter located above 3300m above sea level. The next day, in challenging weather conditions, one team stood on the main summit of Austria’s highest peak. The other team  made it to its slightly lower summit, Kleinglockner. As you can see in the photos from the trip, the weather was not spoiling. All the more, the whole team deserves huge congratulations.
