The turn of September and October is usually the time of nice autumn weather in northern Slovenia, sometimes with flashes of summer, and sometimes, in the higher parts of the mountains, winter. During this period, as every year, the BluEmu team set off to Triglav. The first snow appeared just before departure. But weather forecasts announced the end of rainfall and sunny, cloudless weather on the day of the planned ascent to the summit. The reality, however, turned out to be different than the forecasts. We managed to reach the Triglavski Dom chalet in some autumn and some winter conditions. The next day the rain stopped. However, much more snow fell overnight than predicted. Weather, snow and avalanche conditions did not give any chance for a summit push on Triglav. The only sensible option was to withdraw. So Triglav has to wait. We will go there again in June.
