Description
The basic part of the intensive winter mountain tourism training was created for those who are familiar with mountain hiking, but, until now they have wandered mainly in summer, or if in winter only on safe routes from refuge to refuge. One day you feel it is not enough and you want something more. To learn to walk in crampons, use an ice axe or other mountaineering equipment. To learn about avalanches, to know how to plan a route, to react properly in an emergency or to be able to prepare a bivouac. Acquiring these skills on the training will open a new world for you: the world of winter mountain trails of Tatras and other mountains. It will also give you the basics to start your adventure with alpine mountains, where winter conditions also prevail in summer.

Why with us
- Our training formula allows you to master all skills faster, both in theory and in practice. The instructor has the opportunity to work individually with each student, and you will surely have time to practice every new skill sufficiently.
- Our training lasts three days – from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening. These days are very intense, filled from dawn to night with outdoor exercises and shelter activities. No moment is wasted. That is why our course is an perfect offer for people who value their time and focus on maximum effective learning.
- We run our winter mountain tourism courses in Slovak Tatras. Our training center is located in one of the most beautiful and scenic places, Kezhmarska Valley, only about 20 km from Polish – Slovak border crossing in Jurgów. There are definitely less tourists there than on the Polish side. Our training are based in Chata Pri Zelenom Plese, the comfortable mountain refuge, famous for its delicious food. The refuge lies at an altitude of about 1600 m a.s.l. Winter conditions prevail there from December to May. So even if a winter in lowlands is poor, here is plenty of snow. Training places are very close to the refuge, so we don’t waste our time on ascents and descents. And of you feel cold, you can quickly and safely hide in the refuge.
- The car ride with instructors is possible from several cities of Southern Poland.
We will teach you
- to plan winter mountain trips and prepare yourself to them;
- to identify and prevent major hazards in the mountains;
- to use basic mountaineering equipment such as crampons, ice axe, avalanche detector, shovel and probe;
- to move safely in mountainous terrain;
- to arrest the falls using the ice axe;
- to use the basics of avalanche prevention;
- to perform basic rescue operations in case of an avalanche;
- to build an emergency shelter in the snow cave.
Classes are held in the form of field exercises, lectures and practical classes at the refuge as well as mountain trips.
The price of the training includes
- participation in the training;
- medical expenses insurance and accident insurance;
- free rental of mountaineering and avalanche equipment.
