Description

Is it possible to reach two peaks in one trip – one five-thousander and the other, which is not far from 5000 m, but in terms of difficulty it is an ambitious and demanding goal? Can be! During the “Georgian Giants” expedition, we will first climb Kazbek (5033 m above sea level), and then on Tetnuldi (4858 m above sea level)

We choose Kazbek as the first summit. The participants of the expedition will not have to carry everything on their backs: a horse will carry heavy backpacks to the Meteostation located at about 3700m (or slightly lower in the event of a lot of snow). We drive to the monastery at 2300m and later a car will take us back from there. In order to maximize the chances of all participants to reach the summit, we will acclimatize gradually and slowly. The summit attack, weather permitting, we will start not like most of the Meteostation groups, but from a plateau located only about 700 meters lower than the summit, where we will set up an additional camp. Thanks to this, also slightly weaker or slower walking people will be able to reach the summit.

After the end of the mountain action on Kazbek, we will accelerate the pace. We will go to another region of Georgia, to Svaneti, where our goal will be Tetnuldi. Using the already gained acclimatization, we will be able to immediately go to the top and climb it in an alpine style. As Tetnuldi is a difficult target, we obviously have some time reserve. If the mountain activity goes quickly and efficiently, we will spend our free days relaxing in Tbilisi.
