At the beginning of July, another BluEmu expedition set off to climb the highest mountain in Europe. This time the weather was good. Maybe even too good. In the lowlands the sun blazed mercilessly, until it was difficult to withstand in the once cold valleys. Higher, as it was soon to turn out, the sun was melting the glaciers much more than in previous years. Ultimately, Monte Bianco did not let us to its main peak. The health problems of parts of the team, and above all the huge crevasses , much larger than in previous years, meant that the only safe option was to come down. Global warming is changing mountains like never before … But we didn’t give up so much. A day later we climbed Little Mont Blanc, Piccolo Monte Bianco. A beautiful trip with elements of easy climbing, in the sub-summit parts a hike on a safe glacier, and above all with amazing views, which you can enjoy without rushing overnight in the atmospheric Bivacco Gino Rainetto, having a tame chamois – a model as a neighbor. We definitely recommend it!
