In the beginning of May we visited Georgia. Our goal was Mt. Kazbek. Before we went uphill, however, we spent a day in Tbilisi exploring and tasting Georgian cuisine. By the way, we were able to recall what it is like to be able to sit “legallyl” at a table in a restaurant or cafe. The next day we went to Stepantsminda, still better known by its former name Kazbegi. From that moment on, what is unusual in the Caucasus, famous for its capricious weather, beautiful sunny and windless weather accompanied us until the end of the trip. The next day we took an exhausting ascent to Meteostation, located just over 3600 m a.s.l. The route wasmostly covered with melting wet snow. In Meteostation, we had a day devoted to regeneration, acclimatization and training of participants in walking on the glacier and stopping falls. The next day we went to the summit. Some members had to give up near the summit: under the pass or on the pass. It was a good idea, because some of the team planned to ski down the slopes of the mountain, and this requires strong legs. And finally success: Kazbek was climbed by strongest, female part of the group. Than we went down downhill: some hed to walk on foot and for skiers the descent was the greatest fun. Congratulations to all participants of the expedition!
