Description
A mountaineering trip to the Monte Rosa massif is a perfect way to start your adventure with four-thousanders of Alps. Technical difficulties on most of Monte Rosa’s peaks are not largevery big, and mountain ascents are not long, just few hours a day. On the other hand, we will spend a lot of time on the glacier. Therefore, we will be using crampons, ice axe or a harness every day. Also we will spend several nights on the relatively high altitude: at most about 4100m. This may be a unique opportunity to check your organism’s reactions to the altitude and to get prepared for future expeditions on higher mountains as well.
The biggest advantage of the expedition to Monte Rosa massif is the opportunity to climb several four-thousand-meter summits in a short time, with relatively little effort and with high chances of success. In good weather you may be nearly sure that you will climb the four or five peaks of the Monte Rosa massif, often even more.
During one-day excursions we will usually attempt to climg two peaks a day. Between these excursions we will have chance to rest and regenerate in mountain refuges and shelters. There is no need to sleep in tents above the campsite in Gressoney. And since we don’t take tents, our backpacks will be relatively light. During the expedition we will visit the highest located mountain refuge in Europe.
The Monte Rosa Massif is a place full of charm and picturesque. The area is easily accessible and frequently visited by tourists. But still their number there is much lower than on the most popular mountaineering routes in Alps. The expedition to Monte Rosa massif will certainly enrich your mountaineering experience and give you beutiful memories.
